Republican John McCain was forced to clarify his comments Friday suggesting the Iraq war involved U.S. reliance on foreign oil. He said he was talking about the first Gulf War and not the current conflict.
Sure thing John, because everyone is talking about the Gulf War right now. And when you said that your energy policy would ‘prevent us from ever having to send our young men to conflict again in the Middle East,’ I’m sure our current adventure in Iraq didn’t cross anyone’s mind — it was obvious that you were referencing our only war in the Middle East a war that took place almost 20 years ago.
